Welcome to My Journey as a Psychologist

Discover More About Me

Well, look—information about me is actually all over this website already. I’m a psychologist. I was educated and trained in Connecticut, with a side quest in Miami-Dade County for my internship. After returning to Connecticut, I finished my postdoc, obtained my license, and the rest is history. I went into private practice in 2016. As of this blog post, I’ve been working for myself for almost 10 years.

Starting out, I couldn't imagine feeling like I knew what I was doing, but I have been around the block a few times. I'm still learning every day. You can visit my About Me page to learn more.

My Passions

I have a few passions I should point out, and you'll see these topics arise often in my posts.

Importance of Getting Diagnoses Right

Getting a diagnosis right is important to me. It’s crucial not only for me but also for my clients. My goal is to help more people achieve accurate diagnoses. The process can be complicated, but accuracy is key to effective treatment.

Engaging with Current Events

Occasionally, I step out of my traditional lane. Politics are complicated these days. What happens in the world impacts me and the people I serve. I believe it’s essential to engage with these topics to better understand the struggles my clients face.

Respect and Boundaries

Every person deserves to be treated with respect. We have skills for engaging in productive conflict, but healthy boundaries are important too. If you can’t play nice, I can find another sandbox to play in. Respect is at the core of the therapeutic relationship and is essential for progress.

The Bond with My Dogs

I’m a proud dog mom. I refer to my dogs often because the behavioral strategies I use with them work well with people, animals, and just about anything! It’s fascinating how understanding animal behavior can enhance our interactions with humans. Training dogs requires patience, consistency, and love—the same qualities necessary in any meaningful relationship.

My Blogging Journey

Feel free to follow along or subscribe! I’m not necessarily on a strict publishing schedule, but when the universe throws an idea my way, I scramble to share it with you. Writing is an outlet for me, and it allows me to connect with others. I hope my experiences and insights resonate with you as well.

Closing Thoughts

Sending you calm vibes as we navigate this journey together. Thank you for stopping by, and I look forward to sharing more of my thoughts and experiences in the future!
