From "just curious" to "fully interested" - this workshop is designed to help psychologists gain a basic understanding of how the SSA disability consultative examination process works, what our role is, and some best practices. The workshop is designed to help mental health professionals from referral to report submission, as well as understand the risks and benefits of providing this service. Objectives: - Identify the most important components of a consultative evaluation and describe the value-add of the mental health clinical opinion - Describe why the professional clinical expertise provided by the consultative examiner (psychologist/mental health professional) is critical to the disability determination process.
