Zoom Workshop

About the event

Suicide risk assessment is a required component of competent clinical practice, yet many clinicians report feeling uncertain about how to move from screening questions to meaningful clinical decision-making. This interactive two-hour workshop is designed to provide a practical, real-world approach to suicide risk assessment that goes beyond checklists and toward thoughtful clinical formulation.

Participants will review core research findings on suicide risk and protective factors, while focusing primarily on how to conduct effective screening conversations, interpret risk signals in context, and determine appropriate levels of intervention. Through case examples and applied discussion, we will examine common pitfalls, gray-area presentations, and strategies for documenting clinical reasoning in a clear and defensible manner.

This workshop emphasizes usable tools and clinical judgment rather than rote protocols, helping clinicians feel more confident, grounded, and prepared when assessing suicide risk in everyday practice.
